The "Stampede", a 5K run/walk, IS BACK -- The Stampede kicks off a full day of activities associated with "The Western Heritage Weekend" and the Annual San Antonio Livestock Show and Rodeo, in beautiful downtown San Antonio. You will be in the middle of the action for the yearly Western Heritage Parade & Cattle Drive, Chuck Wagon Breakfast, great entertainment in the plaza, and the annual Vaquero Cook-Off after the parade. All race proceeds go to the San Antonio Livestock Show and Rodeo Scholarship Fund. As a participant you/your team will have the opportunity to run/walk through picturesque downtown, as you travel the route of the Western Heritage Parade and Cattle Drive. This run is one of only a few available to runners that actually goes through the middle of downtown San Antonio. Several activities will be taking place prior to and after at the start/finish location and after the parade join the fun at the Market Square. After the Stampede you will be able to watch the Western Heritage Parade. It's time to register yourself/ your team so you can join us for this unique opportunity to participate in this annual historical celebration.

Run starts at Milam Park (corner of Houston and Santa Rosa) just like last year. 
We will run East on Houston 
Turn South on Presa St. 
Turn West of E. Nueva St. to South on the river walk 
Go East on E. Sheridan
South on King William 
West across the Johnson Street Pedestrian Bridge 
Turn North back to the Riverwalk 
West on Nueva St. 
North on Main Ave. 
West on Houston back to Point of Beginning (Milam Park) 

WEB Registration closes at midnight of 02/02/2024 for the 5k run/walk.

Onsite/Online late registration is available online and during/at the packet pick-up locations (see below) and Onsite only under the tents beginning at 7:30 AM Saturday Feb. 3rd.

PARKING IS AT CATTLEMAN'S LOT - MAP BELOW.  The Parking map below is correct (even though it may have the wrong year) We are parking at the Cattleman's Lot (same as last year) LIMITED SPACE - SO IT'S FIRST COME FIRST SERVE --

Teams- minimum of 10 runners will receive a $5 discount (once you reach 10 runners, you will get a $5 refund).

VIRTUAL RUN: a Virtual Run is FUN if you are not able to make it to the event.  We APPRECIATE your support from all of those far away states!!!  We think you are amazing!!   We will be happy to mail your Race Kit - please send pictures.   PACKETS WILL BE MAILED MONDAY JANUARY 29TH, 2024. 
HOW DOES A VIRTUAL RUN WORKS:

*Run solo or with your family. 

• Find your favorite place to run and enjoy your race, it can be your block, a park or just a place you feel comfortable running. If you don't have a garmin to measure the 5K, download STRAVA on your phone. 

• Once you have completed your race, submit your results and photos. Submitting results is optional. 

Event Awards: 
Awards for age category winners, both Male and Female in the following categories:
               0-9, 10-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-99, 80-99.

Overall winners, both Female and Male, will receive a special Bronze Longhorn trophy and a gift certificate to BOOT BARN. 

Bronze Bull 'Standing Tall' Trophy for "Masters" (runners age 40 and up) both Female and Male and a gift certificate to BOOT BARN.
