Details from event's RunSignUp.com listing:
The Marshmallow Mile is 1 Mile of absolute fun.
Here's the Scoop: 4 x 1/4 Mile laps of running or walking on a track. At the beginning of each lap the participant must fully eat (and swallow) 6 Marshmallows. If participant tosses his/her respective cookies, they must complete 1 penalty lap (no marshmallows required to complete that lap).
The fastest man & woman will each receive a gift basket filled with Marshmallow goodies as well as a World Record certificate for world's fastest Marshmallow Mile.
In order to prevent too many participants in this race, there are 3 different waves we will be doing for this event. Wave 1 starts at 6:30pm. Wave 2 starts at 6:50pm. Wave 3 at 7:10 pm. We have a 50 participant limit in waves 1 and 2, while wave 3 doesn't have a participant limit. There is a 20 minute cut-off time to complete your run/walk. If you don't finish before the 20 minutes is up, you have to leave the track so the next wave can start.
There will be a clock at the start/finish area and you'll be relying on your own watch or timing device for results. This is not a professionally-timed event: our focus here is 100% fun.
As a super-cool bonus: Olympic medalist Jenny Simpson will be cheering you on as you attempt to set a World Record (or just humbly eat 24 marshmallows and try not to barf) in this unique event. Afterwards, stay for a fun meet & greet with Jenny filled with photo ops, autographs and a question/answer session. Each participant will receive an exclusive Marshmallow Mile decal.
Cost: $5 (plus runsignup registration fee)
