Fruit Cove MOVE 5K Run/Walk & 1-Mile Fun Run

DESCRIPTION & BENEFICIARY

Fruit Cove Baptist Church is hosting its annual Move 5K Run/Walk & 1-Mile Fun Run to raise money to support Fostering Hope, a Fruit Cove Baptist Church ministry that exists to raise awareness to vulnerable children in our community and support foster and adoptive families. Proceeds will be used to continue the mission of Fostering Hope with education programs, wrap around care, family events, and to supplement the addition of the Hope Resource Center to serve the community. Please join us in this fun family event while raising money for a worthy cause.

5K Adults
Early bird - through September 4th = $30
September 5th - October 15th = $35
October 16th - October 20th = $40
Day of Race = $45

5K Students K-12
Early bird - through September 5th= $20

Day of Race = $35

1-Mile Fun Run - 12 and under (Starts at 9am) - Parents or adults that would like to accompany their fun runner do not need to register.

Fruit Cove MOVE 5K Cheer Squad - Come and cheer on your favorite runner/walker and get a t-shirt! Hang out along the course or have a seat in the official Cheer Squad bleachers. Join in on the fun!
$20 minimum donation

Donations: If you just want to support the cause you can always just donate.

PACKET PICK UP/REGISTRATION
Packets will be available for pick up at Fruit Cove Baptist Church on Friday, October 20th from 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM. Packets will also be available race day beginning 1.5 hours before the race.

You can also register in person at Fruit Cove Baptist Church on Friday, October 20th from 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM or on race day beginning 1.5 hours before the race.
 
COURSE
The course starts and ends at Fruit Cove Baptist Church. The route will go south on SR13 into Julington Creek Plantation and returning along the same route to the church.
 
It's a certified 5K course: 5K USATF certified course # FL18047TY

The purpose of the USATF course certification program is to produce road racecourses of accurately measured distances. For any road running performance to be accepted as a record or be nationally ranked, it must be run on a USATF-certified course. In addition, the certification program is very important to the average road racer, as well as those of exceptional speed. Most runners like to compare performances run on different courses, and such comparisons are difficult if course distances are not reliable. No one can truly establish a personal best if the course distance is not accurate.

AWARDS
Awards will be presented to the top three men and women overall, first master's male and female overall, and the top three in each of the following male and female age groups: 10 & under, 11-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79 and 80+.  Awards will be handed out directly after the conclusion of the Youth Fun Run.

RACE TIMING AND SCORING
The 5K will be professionally timed and scored by Second Wind Racing. The race will be timed using disposable, electronic tags attached to the bib number. Please wear your bib number to the front, pinned at all four corners, visible, and unaltered. Printed results will be posted at the race site and live online during the race at FruitCoveMOVE5KFunRunandWalk.

The fun run will not be timed.
