Support Sandy Springs Education Force's Footprints For The Future Virtual Event
Sandy Springs Education Force's Footprints for the Future is going VIRTUAL! This means you can participate when and where you choose! For our 8th Annual Road Race, we are bringing back the favorites and adding something new for the cyclists!
Sign up for a 10K or 5K or participate in a STEP CHALLENGE or a BIKE/CYCLE CHALLENGE. Challenges will be based on distance traveled with your steps or cycling!
The Challenge / Event is starting on October 30, 2021 and running through November 14, 2021.
HOW DOES A VIRTUAL EVENT WORK?
10K / 5K: You choose your own route, where you run and when during the open time frame (10/30-11/14). We are using Race Joy to track your activity or you can submit your activity manually. We highly encourage you to use RaceJoy. It is a fun, interactive, and easy way to post your race.
STEP Challenge: This event will be measured in DISTANCE. Get your steps by walking or running on a treadmill or other cardio machine, outside in the fresh air or anywhere you walk or run. Start with your steps on October 30 and log steps through November 14 at the end of the event. You can post your steps (walking or running) in the format of distances (miles) as often as you wish during this event. Currently, this is established to be entered manually during the event, but can be done easily through your smartphone.
BIKE/CYCLING Challenge: This event will be measured in DISTANCE. Get your miles in via cycling in your home on a machine or outside in the fresh air. Start on October 30 and log miles through November 14. You can post your cycling distance in the format of distances (miles) as often as you wish during this event. Currently, this is established to be entered manually during the event, but can be done easily through your smartphone.
RACEJOY: We are using RaceJoy for this Virtual Event. See more information below. You may download this program to your phone in order to track and post your activity live to the leader board. This program can be used for your 10K and 5K virtual run to track or log your steps or biking activity.

WHY WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT FOR THIS EVENT
Help Us Bridge the Academic Gap - Keep Students On Track for Academic Success
Your Support Makes a Big Difference
Sandy Springs Education Force has been at the forefront of supporting the educational successes of financially vulnerable students in Sandy Springs for over a decade. With support from our Footprints for the Future sponsors, we launched a brand new virtual tutoring program last year to help elementary school students stay on track with their academics during the pandemic emergency. We also expanded our successful Summer Book Club to ensure students did not lose their reading gains over the summer break. Many students are still facing vast educational gaps, especially children whose families have limited financial means. To help bridge this gap, we are continuing to expand our programs to provide targeted learning support and outreach programs that will make a difference for these public school students.
