  • Details from event's RunSignUp.com listing:

A fantastic sprint triathlon located on the fabulous Diamond Lake in Cassopolis, Michigan. The transition area is based out of the Diamond Lake Marina at 21316 Shore Acres Rd, Cassopolis. [NOTE: Do not go to the Follett address, that is where the boats are stored and serviced. You want to go to the water !]

500 Yard Swim out from the Marina into beautiful Diamond lake. Counter clock-wise course.

The  12 mile bike  route is an out and back course, starting clockwise around the lake, then out on country roads, and back. Flat and fast.

The 3.3 mile run goes the opposite direction around the lake on an out and back.

What we love about the the out and back courses is you get to see all of your friends on the course!

Spectators are encouraged to bring a camp chair for the side of the road, where there will be non-stop action! Of course, we always need volunteers so please encourage your family to actively spectate as a volunteer!

NOTES: On race day, you cannot park at the Marina or Yacht Club.  Our transition area is located in the Marina parking area! There is plenty of parking within a block or two of the race but allow time. When you arrive, just follow the instructions from the volunteers and or check the map on FB and email prior to the event.

Diamond Lake Triathlon is a fundraiser for Cass County CASA and the Challenged Athletes Foundation.

The same exciting venue at our host sponsor Diamond Lake Marina located next to the Diamond Lake Yacht. Our Tri-club challenge will add an extra piece of excitement that will bring the fastest teams to Diamond lake, we expect a new course record to be set.

The Current Course Records have set an extremely high bar!

    Patrick Cavanaugh 54:48 M

    Dani Fischer 59:08 F

    Sebastian DeJong 1:01:04 NB

However, although we attracted some super speedsters last year,  this race is an excellent opportunity for first time triathletes!  We start with a swim that includes excellent on water support, continue on a relatively flat  and lovely bike course and end with a scenic  out and back run around the frontage road of beautiful Diamond Lake.

As an event that promotes community, fitness and fun -- go ahead and build your own relay team. If you want to race and need help building a team, please reach out and we can help you find some teammates!

Notes:  There are no refunds on registration fees. This is a fundraiser, so all funds will go to a good cause. If you cannot attend, we are unable to send you your packets. If you cannot attend the awards ceremony, we cannot send awards to you after the race. If you must leave before the awards ceremony, please either have someone pick up your award, or talk to the RD ahead of time to try to get your award before you go.

This is a USAT Sanctioned Race

    Tips for First Time Triathletes

We LOVE to welcome first time racers!  You don't need a fancy bike or fancy gear to get started! However,  you DO need  to wear a bike helmet in order to participate!

In 2024, We are offering a swim only opportunity!  We need more swimmers, so this is the perfect chance to practice swimming in open water, surrounded by a safety team. You will get to experience the thrill and the differences of no swim lines.

For the love of all that is good and moisture wicking...

Though we try to be accurate and on top of things... Race details can change when we aren't lookin. And once in a while we simply make a mistake.

ALWAYS visit the race's website for the most complete and accurate race information.
