    About Disability Pride:
    What does disability pride mean?
Disability pride means you take pride in your whole self, which includes your disability. It means you understand your limitations, including chronic pain or illness, but accept and love who you are.

    Why is disability pride important?
Since disability pride is a fairly new concept, it is important for people with disabilities to be proudly visible in the community. The disability pride movement wants to present people with disabilities as people living their lives in plain view proud of their identity.

    What do the Colors Mean?
The Disability Pride Flag was created by Ann Magill, a disabled women. Each one of the elements symbolizes a segment of the disability community. Below is a breakdown of the flag:

    • The black field: This represents disabled people who lost their lives due to their disability and also due to negligence, suicide and eugenics.
    • Red: physical disabilities
    • Yellow: cognitive and intellectual disabilities
    • White: invisible and undiagnosed disabilities
    • Blue: mental illness
    • Green: sensory perception disabilities

For the love of all that is good and moisture wicking...

Though we try to be accurate and on top of things... Race details can change when we aren't lookin. And once in a while we simply make a mistake.
