“Why We Run Roads and Trails" is a local race series for the trail runner advocates!  The first portion of our series "Roads", will run Sunday, April 24th on the Rivertrail starting at the bottom of the park and ride on Riverside Drive, half way between Saranac and Ionia.  The course is fast and flat - mostly crushed limestone and very smooth to run. It's a beautiful and peaceful area to run. 

T-shirts for all participants with medals for age division winners and trophies for overall and masters winners.

$20 for the 5k and $25 for the 10K!   Price increase the week of the race.  Be sure to pre-register as there is no race day registration.

Start time for both the 5k and 10k is Noon. Packet Pick Up is race day at the park starting at 11 am.

As always, all race proceeds go back to our Annual Campaign to help promote health and wellness for EVERYONE at the Ionia County YMCA.  Additionally, these races help support our 3rd grade water safety program! This program provides over 1000 area 3rd graders with the opportunity to learn how to manage themselves safely around and in the water which is VITAL to the safety of children who live in a "water filled" state! Please come support us! 

Parking info: This event takes place on State land.  A state park pass is REQUIRED for entrance. If you do not have one, you can purchase one at the gate.

The race is professionally timed by the Michigan Running Foundation. Results will be live during the race and posted on this website.
