Because of the recovery time between races, both races are available to participants. Two-mile race/walk is at 3pm, 8K (5M) race/walk at 4pm.
All net proceeds go to the Joplin Early Learning Center's Cerebral Palsy scholarship fund.
$10/participant discount available for Joplin RoadRunners as well as companies registering 10 or more employees (please contact us to set up discount code for your employees).
Prizes are pumpkins! Hi-tech long sleeve shirt is optional and at discounted price with paid registration.
Both distances are USATF-certified and electronic-bib timed! Participants will receive a certified time for either or both distances and qualify for listing on
MO staterunningrecords.com and on MaraRunning.org.
Electronic bib timing made possible by a major donation from Blue Buffalo, a major sponsor of the race.Runners taking part in either race will also be ranked in traditional 10-year age groups.
Age groups are 1-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60+Participants in both races will also be ranked by AGP% (Age-Graded Performance Percentage - World Masters Athletics scoring chart), creating a level-playing field for all participants, regardless of gender or age.
Largest prize-pumpkins for fastest Male and Female in each race. Awards to top-3 age group winners and to top-three AGP% scores in each race. Any MO age record set at either distance receives a special MO-record award and online MO-record certificate.
All participants receive event medals and/or "participation" pumpkin (while available).
Water available at the start/finish and along the course.Both races will start and end at the Leggett & Platt front parking lot (adjacent to Leggett Rd) and held almost entirely on the Ruby Jack trail. Course is flat and fast! Come and set a PR!!
Dogs and strollers ARE allowed (dogs on leash please).
Note that we added a second race day on 10/22, specifically for a number of Blue Buffalo and General Mills employees who, because of their shift, cannot make it on 10/15. Although this 10/22 date is set as an open event to all, participants are encouraged as much as possible to attend the 10/15 event. All prizes above refer to the 10/15 event only.
