Yes, we know it's hot out there in the summer. That's why we're inviting you to "Run With the Roosters," Kinney Rd. 5 Mile Run & Walk, at Old Tucson Studios at 5:50 a.m. (or first sign of light). As always, Everyone Runs brings you the most value for your money with our famous free Mexican breakfast, running shirt in cotton or tech material, free photos, and overall and 5-year age group rooster trophy awards! New this year, commemorative rooster coasters for everyone.

This year, the race is all about the run and nothing more.  Health and safety are our #1 concerns.  If you cannot abide by social distancing at all areas of the race, please choose the virtual event instead.

The event details for the Virtual 5-Miler can be found at the end of these instructions.

Directions: Speedway west to Gates Pass.  Travel Gates Pass to Kinney Rd.  Turn left (south) on Kinney.  The first Old Tucson entrance is the employee and delivery entrance – you must use that entrance.  Please try not to travel from Ajo to Kinney, as Kinney will be closed to traffic at 5:35 a.m.

Parking Details: Our course starts and finishes at the main park entrance to Old Tucson Studios at 201 S. Kinney Rd. Please arrive on-time.  All roads will be closed by 5:40 a.m.  Parking is plentiful and is right near the start/finish line.  We will start parking you via the Old Tucson employee parking lot, which is the first (north) entrance of Old Tucson. Early arrivals will be directed down the employee entrance road to the main lot for up-font parking.

These are the in-person event rules that will be implemented at the race.  If you feel you cannot abide, we ask that you do the virtual 5-miler instead. Packet pick-up and post-race award details are listed after these rules.

1.) All participants must wear a face mask before and after the race.  You do not need to wear it while running.  It must be worn at all times in the Old Tucson staging area, at the start line, and when you come back into Old Tucson to finish.  You will have to carry your mask while running so you can put it back on at the finish.  Buffs and bandannas are not acceptable. Masks will be available at packet pick-up for the first 200.  Mask must be worn prior at all times in the Old Tucson parking lot, at the start, and put back on when you approach the finish line.

2.) We will enforce a policy of 6-10 foot distancing at all times throughout each event.

3.) We are implementing starts in waves of 12 people at a time and in one-minute increments.  Waves times/number will be listed on your bib and sent to you in an Excel race week.  Waves are based on the finish time you submitted when you registered (fastest to not as "fastest").  Those registering after August 16 will be put in the last waves.

4.) We ask that do not approach the start area until 3-minutes before your wave.  We will call your wave number and name to enter the start area of 12 runners.  Each runner will have a cone to stand next to in the start area.

5.) Runners must distance by at least 10-15 feet apart of each other during the actual race, and with no spitting or nose blowing allowed.  We will have marshalls on the course.

6.) We will not have water stops, so you will need to carry your own on the course.  We will have a limited amount of 16 ounce bottles at the 2.5 mile mark.  If you take one, you must carry it back to the finish line to dispose.  Please do not litter on the course.

7.) We will pass out the shirts, your commemorative rooster coaster, and your breakfast burrito as you finish the race.  We then ask that you head home, or you can leave the entire staging area and go cheer on your friends from the road itself.  No gathering will be allowed at Old Tucson.

8.) When you registered for the race, you were required to sign a waiver that you are currently healthy and free of Covid-19 symptoms. This includes up to race day.  If you feel the least bit sick, DO NOT come to the race.

    Other stuff:
Bib pick-up will be held as follows: (we will not be offering race day packet pick-up, so we will be offering a full week for you to pick-up your race bib)

    • For those that entered before August 16:   August 17, 18, 19 ONLY at Fleet Feet on Tanque Verde, 10am to 6pm.  Please note that Fleet Feet only allows a few people in the store at a time, so you may have to wait outside.  They will let you know when it's ok to enter.  Please be patient. You will only be picking up your bib, which has the timing chip on the back.
    • For all:     August 20 & 21, 10am to 6pm,  and August 22, 10am to 2pm, ONLY at Fleet Feet on Oracle Rd.  Same details as above.
There will be no race day bib pick-up or race-day sign-up at the race.  All registrations must be done online.
      Friends can pick-up for friends.
    • Awards ceremony will be held on Sunday at 11am live on the Everyone Runs Facebook page.  Rooster trophies are for male and female 1st, 2nd, and 3rd overall and 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in 5-year age groups.  Trophies will only be available at Fleet Feet on Oracle starting at noon after the race.  Again, please do not rush the store all at once.  The awards will be there for 10 days and then they will be moved to Fleet Feet on Tanque Verde for the next 10 days.  This includes raffle prizes, too.
    • Race results can be found immediately on your phone after you finish the race.  Simply go to this link to enable participant tracking. https://runsignup.com/Race/FindARunner/?raceId=31000.  We will not be posting results.

VIRTUAL 5 Miler Details: For those of you who would prefer to run on your own, or with a small group of friends, we are now offering our virtual 5-miler.

Run 5 miles wherever you choose. We do not recommend the actual race- course, as it has no shoulder for running. Run at your own risk. We will not be held liable for unwise choices. You should try to run at 5:50 a.m. or earlier, to keep the spirit of Run with the Roosters, and try to find a course with rolling hills if you can.  We do have a list of 11 Tucson courses that we created.  You’ll find it at everyoneruns.net under the Rooster race details.

We want to make this virtual option fun for everyone.  We'll even email you your race bib.  We invite you to start at the same time as the live race on August 23rd at 5:50 a.m., but you can also run when you choose (no later than August 23rd at 10am).  We'll be live, too.  Go live on Facebook or Instagram with #runwiththeroosters.  We'll award the most creative start, rooster crow, and creative costume, but we've got to see it!

After your run, please go to https://runsignup.com/Race/RegistrationLookup/?raceId=31000&renderMode=results_mode to submit your virtual result. This must be done no later than 10am on Sunday, August 23rd.  1st place rooster trophies will be awarded in 5-year age groups and for male and female with the top overall times.

At 11am on Sunday the 23rd, we'll be live on Facebook with the awards ceremony and raffle.  Be sure to have entered your run time before 10am.  Late time submissions will not be honored.

Trophies for 1st place age-groups, your shirt, and your commemorative coaster, will be available at Fleet Feet on Oracle Rd. starting at noon on Sunday, August 23.  After 10 days, they'll be at the Tanque Verde location.

For the love of all that is good and moisture wicking...

Though we try to be accurate and on top of things... Race details can change when we aren't lookin. And once in a while we simply make a mistake.

ALWAYS visit the race's website for the most complete and accurate race information.
