The TRI for FUN Triathlon & Duathlon are back in 2024 at Rancho Seco Park in Herald, California with races on June 9th, July 14th, and August 11th for the 41st year of TRI for FUN Triathlon racing!

TRI for FUN Triathlon #2

Rancho Seco Park, Herald

The TRI for FUN Sprint Triathlon began in 1983, started by Fleet Feet Sports. TBF Racing took over the event in 2001 and has enjoyed working with the SMUD Staff at Rancho Seco Park to bring you this classic Series of Triathlons each summer.

2024 Race Features

The original TRI for FUN Series is back in its 41st year at Rancho Seco Park. The Dates are: June 9th, July 14th & August 11th.

The race is at beautiful Rancho Seco Park featuring a lake swim, a road bike course, and a dirt trail run. The TRI for FUN Triathlon features a half-mile swim, 16 mile bike, 3 mile run course.  

The DU for FUN has a 1 mile run, 16  mile bike, 3 mile run course. 

All racers will receive a TFF Finisher item, post race refreshments, plus awards in each age group. TRI for FUN Commemorative race t-shirts are available for $20 when ordered before July 7th. 

Awards will be given to the top three in each 10-year age group in each Triathlon.

TRI for FUN Triathlon - 1/2 mile swim-16 mile bike-3 mile run

DU for FUN Duathlon - 1 mile run-16 mile bike-3 mile run

Relay Teams

Relay Teams are available for the TRI for FUN Triathlon and DU for FUN Duathlon events. Awards will be presented to the top three teams in three divisions: Coed, Female, Male. 

Packet Pick Up Information

Race packets will be available race morning from 6:30 am to 8:30 am at the race site. There is a $12 park entrance fee per vehicle.

Start Times

TRI for FUN Triathlon - 8 a.m. Wave Starts

DU for FUN Duathlon - 8 a.m. Mass Start

7:30 am - Entry into Rancho Seco Park closed from 7:30 am to 8 am due to our TRI for KIDS Triathlon event. Vehicles can park and walk in approximately one mile or wait until the road opens at 8 am.

Race for FREE Information

Our Race for FREE Athlete Volunteer Program offers a chance to get involved with multi-sport events, have fun, and earn a $50 TBF Racing Volunteer voucher good towards entry fees at any of our events this year. Each volunteer shift is 4 hours. We ask volunteers to reserve a volunteer position at any of our events by emailing: Volunteers@totalbodyfitness.com as our volunteer positions will fill up quickly.

Refund and Transfer Information

TBF Racing has a No Refund policy on all of our events. A Refund requested prior to race week will be given a TBF Race credit for the amount of the entry fee minus a $25 processing fee. Credits are not given during race week. Race transfers are allowed from one TBF Racing event to another within a one-year time frame. There is a $25 transfer fee. Transfers are not allowed during race week. ALL TBF Racing events are held Rain or Shine.
