Birds of a feather, run together! This year, the Fountain Hills PTO will be hosting their first annual Feathers & Flapjacks: 5K & Fun Run for the whole community! A percentage of all registration fees goes right back to our three schools. So grab your friends, colleagues, and family members for a fun-filled day of Falcon spirit, community togetherness, and exercise! Following the 5K & Fun Run, the FHUSD Athletic Boosters will be hosting a delicious flapjack breakfast in the Fountain Hills High School cafeteria 8:30-10:30am.

Let's have some fun!!! We encourage all participants to wear FALCON BLUE of ANY KIND! Let your creative spirit SOAR!

Medals will be given out at 9am by the start/finish line for the following age categories.

*12 & under

*13-19

*20-29

*30-39

*40-49

*50-59

*60-69

*70-79

*80+

The top three finishers, male and female in each age category, will receive a 2022 Feathers & Flapjacks medal and the top three overall finishers will receive a trophy.

Event details and schedule

Feathers & Flapjacks: 5K & Fun Run

January 28th, 2023 8:00am - 11:00am

Fountain Hills High School

Runners will be able to pick up race packets the evening before the event at the Fountain Hills High School front office from 5 to 7pm. We will take last minute registrations during packet pick up, but not morning of race. We cannot guarantee race shirts for last minute registrations.

In addition, participants may arrive anytime after 6am on race day to pick up their packets. Pick up location: FHHS Falcon Nest area-PTO table. Both runs start promptly at 8:00 am! The Fun Run will be four laps (1 mile) around the track. While the 5K will follow a route around the high school campus with gorgeous desert vistas. A majority of the route will be paved, very small portions are dirt trail. 2 times around the campus will equal 5K. 

This event is a rain or shine event. Remember to dress accordingly for your best comfort. We acknowledge your creativity and enthusiastically encourage all participants to wear FALCON FLAIR of ANY KIND! Let your creative spirit SOAR!

The top 3 finishers in each category will receive an honorary medal. All runners who register in advance (official date TBD) will receive a special event dry-fit shirt with a custom logo (designed by a local Fountain Hills artist)that they can wear for the race.

To ensure a safe and fun event for everyone….NO PETS WILL BE ALLOWED. 😊

Parking will be available on site and clearly visible in the large east FHHS lot. Then make your way to the north east walkway around the back of the gym. Here you will find the FHHS Falcon Nest, start and finish line and access to restrooms. This is also where you will access the cafeteria for flapjacks and the track for the Fun Run/Walk. The FHABC Flapjack Breakfast will include:sausage, juice and water. Breakfast will be served from 8:30-10:30 in the FHHS cafeteria. The additional $10 ticket purchase/ person for breakfast greatly impacts our student athletic program. Thank you!
