    The Miami, FL Run for Resilience Ostomy 5k will be held on Saturday, October 1, 2022 in celebration of Ostomy Awareness Day. All proceeds benefit the United Ostomy Associations of America, Inc (UOAA) charity, a 501(c)(3) organization. Donations are tax deductible. (https://www.ostomy.org/)

     
    RACE DAY SCHEDULE 

     9:00 a.m. Registration starts /breakfast

    9:30 a.m. Opening Ceremony 

    10:00 a.m. Life Story by Collin Jarvis

    10:15 a.m. Warm-up session 

    10:30 a.m. 5K Ostomy run/walk for resilience  

    11:30 a.m. 5K awards Ceremony

    ·11:45 a.m. Survivor Walk 

    12:00 p.m. Lunch with Music 

           o   Vendor spirit award 

            o   Fun raiser recognition 

    12:30 p.m.  Kid's Fun Run/Dash

    1:30 p.m.    Kid's award Ceremony

    REGISTRATION INCLUDES YOUR RACE T-SHIRT & BIB

    A unisex adult or youth size T-Shirt and Bib are included with your registration fee. We will do our best to provide you with the T-Shirt size you ordered or a similar size, however, this is no longer guaranteed. 

     

    RACE COURSE

    This Ostomy 5k Fun Run/walk will be held at the University of Miami-Coral Gables Campus. 

     

    PARKING

    There is ample parking available at the Pavia Parking Garage. Information will be emailed to registrants prior to Race Day.

     

    AWARDS

    Awards will be given for 1st, 2nd and 3rd top overall finishers for each of the following categories:

    - Survivor

    - Ostomy 5K Athletes

    - Children

     
    OPTIONAL OSTOMY POUCH

    Race registration bags will have typical race/sponsor promotional items, ostomy education materials, and most importantly, an ostomy pouch provided by Exclusive Diamond Sponsor Hollister. We encourage non-ostomate participants to put on the pouch for the race to improve awareness and empathy for the challenges faced by people living with ostomies.

     
    CREATE OR JOIN A RACE GROUP/TEAM!

    Once you’ve registered you have the option to CREATE a new RACE GROUP/TEAM or to JOIN one that’s already been established. This is a great way to get others in your community to Register to Participate in the Run and compete against each other. Invite family, friends, co-workers to Register, pick to be on your Race Group/Team (or start their own), order their T-Shirt & Bib, and celebrate the day with you! (Please note this is NOT a Team Fundraiser. To set up a Personal or Team Fundraiser, please go to the DONATE button at the top of this page.)

     
    FUNDRAISING 

    Fundraising is an important aspect of our Run for Resilience Ostomy 5K. Funds raised help UOAA continue to provide resources, educational materials, advocacy, and support to the ostomy and continent diversion community.

    We invite you to set up your own Personal or Team Fundraiser when registering to participate in the event or through our DONATE button at the top of this page. You can create a unique Fundraiser Name and URL address, personalize your fundraising message, and direct your friends and family to your page to join your team or sponsor you in your fundraising goal.
