A 5K run and silent auction to raise funds for Ukrainians enduring genocide. The event is organized by the Utah Ukrainian Association, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit donating 100% of its proceeds to cover the most critical needs in Ukraine.
LOCATION
Please find us at the Rice Pavilion, in the north-east corner of Liberty Park, 600 E 900 S, Salt Lake City.
EARLY ARRIVAL AND PARKING
We expect a high turnout on Saturday. To beat traffic and avoid any wait times at check in, please consider arriving early or parking on one of the side streets next to Liberty Park.
PROGRAM
- 8-9 a.m.
- Day-of-race registration for anyone who hasn't registered online
- Runners, please stop by the Rice Pavilion to check in and get your registration packets, including bib and pin, and a T-shirt.
- Volunteers, please stop by the Rice Pavilion to get started.
- 9 a.m. Welcome by the hosts from UUA and Ukrainian music performance
- 9:15 a.m. Brief remarks by event partner Pure Storage, the honorary consul of Ukraine Jonathan Freedman, and the Ukrainian Olympic curling team.
- 9:30 a.m. Silent auction is opened and runs till 11:30 a.m.
- 9:30 a.m. Start of the 5K run/walk for Ukraine
- 9 a.m.-noon - snacks and refreshments, and kids activities are available at the pavilion; playground next to the pavilion is also available for kids
- 10:45 a.m. - kids fun run
- 11:00 a.m. - kids and adult medal ceremonies, time to look around and place silent auction bids (or raise them! :))
- 11:30 a.m. - final call for silent auction bids
- 11:45 a.m. - silent auction winners announced
- Noon - please process your silent auction payments and pick up your winnings. The event is completed but families are welcome to stay and enjoy the playground with the kids.
OPTIONS FOR KIDS
If your children under 18 are running in the 5K, please have a waver signed by parent or legal guardian at the Rice Pavilion. You can also sign your younger kids up for a short Kids Fun Run, which will follow after the 5K. A $10 fun run sign up donation is optional but encouraged.
VIRTUAL RACE OPTION
We would love to meet you in person! If you are not able to attend on Saturday, please consider our virtual race option here.
T-SHIRTS
We had many enquiries about the T-shirts. We are so glad you like them! We currently have a limited supply and will distribute them to registered runners first. We will open T-shirt sales after the race for any inventory left after all runners received one. We will consider ordering more if there is continued interest after the race.
