    Beat the Heat has been one of the most popular races in North Carolina for more than 30 years!. It has been selected multiple times by Endurance Magazine as the best 5K in Triad NC and was featured in Running Journal magazine as the #1 “Under the Radar” race in the South. Beat the Heat is a charity event with proceeds going to local non-profits that support health and fitness in the community.

    We will again be hosting the NC-USATF 5K Championship for NC elite runners.  Elite runners should contact the race director at beattheheat@twincitytc.org for elite entry standards.

    Packet Pickup begins on Friday before the race from 3-7pm at Fleet Feet Winston-Salem and continues on race day at the Fairgrounds.  Click Here for More Packet Pickup Information

    COVID precautions will be in place consistent with government regulations and the advice of public health officials at the time of the event.  Read more here.

    Registration will open on April 1, 2022.  We are offering registration for both live and virtual races.  We hope you will mark July 16, 2022 on your calendars and plan to join --either in person or virtually for this great event.  Run it for our charity partners.  Run it for community health.  Run it to cross your own finish line!
