Packet Pickup / Late Registration: Friday 6/11/10 6-8pm

Dr. Menzies of Fairmont Family Chiropractic will speak on how to increase overall sports performance and give tips on how to stay healthy for an entire race season. He will speak from 6:30 to 7pm and will be present from 6pm to 8pm for questions and answers.

NOTE: Packet pick up will still be available on Saturday morning at the school during race day registration.

Free swim at 2 city pools (The Wave Pool & newly re-opened 12th Street Pool) for all participants & their families

Water Stops / Aid Stations: 15K has 9 opportunities for water
5K race walk & 5K run have 1 water stop halfway through
Bathrooms will be available at the school.
Course Description: 15K is a USATF certified course (WV02011PR - 15K USATF map). The course is a double loop course with out & back dog leg and 110 feet elevation gain/loss.

5K is a USATF certified course (WV02010PR - 5K USATF map). The course is a double loop course and 30 feet net elevation gain/loss.

Directions To Start/Finish: From I-79 North
Exit #137. Bear right on the exit ramp. Merge left on Rt. 310 North. Follow 310 about 2 miles until it ends. Turn left on US 250 South. Go 1 block. Turn right at the traffic light (4th St). Go about 4 blocks. Turn left at the next light (Locust Ave.) Go 1 block.

From I-79 South
Exit #132. Bear left on exit ramp. Travel US 250 North about 4 miles. At the 7th traffic light turn left by the Go Mart (7th St.) Go about 5 blocks. Turn right at the next light (Locust Ave.) Go about 2 blocks.

From Wetzel County
Travel US 250 South to Fairmont. Turn right at the first traffic light on US 19 South (Locust Ave.) Travel about 4 blocks. Straight at the next light (intersection of Locust & 4th St.). Go 1 more block.
Lodging: The Fairmont Holiday Inn (located right off I-79, exit 137) is offering a special flat rate on Friday evening June 19 (& Saturday June 20 is available as well, but there is no 2 night minimum). The rate is $57 + tax. This applies for 1 to 4 occupants per room. Checkout time is noon but a later check out time may be negotiated depending upon how busy they are. Call 1-800-Holiday or 1-304-366-5500 and ask for the special Run to Read Races rate.
Expected Field Size: 170 all events combined
Sponsors: All proceeds will benefit Literacy Volunteers of Marion County, a United Way agency. LVMC provides free tutoring to adults & children in basic reading, math, ESL (english as a second language), GED preparation, computer basics & related subjects. LVMC is accredited by Pro Literacy Worldwide.
