The race director was in Rockville, MD while RTW 5K #71 was being run. The task of organizing and timing/scoring the race was left to Dolores Drewniak, the RD's wife, and to RTW regular Debbie Tripp.

After the race, the results were telephoned to the missing in action RD and then uploaded to Running in the USA. Photos should be added sometime on Sunday, the 15th.

Two frequent RTW runners, Thomas McDonough and Ann Leoni, both from The Woodlands, took first-place honors. Newcomer Brent Henson of Houston finished second overall despite taken a wrong turn early on in the race.

Conditions: clear; high 30's (absolutely frigid by southeast Texas standards).

Upcoming: The next race in the series is scheduled for Saturday, December 28th. The entry fee remains $1.00 (yes, one dollar).
