The end of the high school cross country season brought the return of the "kids" to the RTW series. A large contingent from the Willis Running Club and a smaller number from the Providence Classical School helped to bring this week's total to 42 - twice that of the previous run.
Jacob Jones of Willis, who posted a couple of RTW wins a year ago as a 15 year old, returned to record another victory. Following closely behind were Clay Schubert of Willis and multi-time RTW winner Craig Calmes of Spring. Fourteen year old Elizabeth Slaughter, also from Willis, won the female competition.
Conditions were ideal: clear; calm; upper 40's; low humidity.
Upcoming: The next race in the series is scheduled for Saturday, December 14th. Because there are five Saturdays in November, there is a three week break between today's run and the next race. Subsequent races are scheduled for Saturday, December 28th and Saturday, January 11th. The entry fee remains $1.00 (yes, one dollar).
