DeGray Lake Resort State Park's Independence Day Freedom 5K/10K

2024...the year of the Great American ECLIPSE! Not to be eclipsed, however, is DeGray Lake Resort State Park's 9th annual 4th of July Freedom 5k/10k Fun Run!

Make plans to celebrate our sweet land of liberty with friends and family this Independence Day at Arkansas's only resort state park! Join us at the starting line in your most patriotic outfit to run, walk, or march the 3.1 mile course (5k), or make mom and 'Merica proud by taking on our 6.2 mile (10k) course. Runners and walkers alike are sure to enjoy scenic lake views and shaded forest trails along our unique, mixed surface courses. The 5k is an even split between single track trail (1.5 miles) and pavement (1.6 miles). The 10k course covers the same distance of single track trail (1.5 miles) with an extended pavement portion (4.7 miles) that parades runners all the way down to the park's Caddo Bend peninsula for some beautiful lake views and a welcome breeze coming off the water. All ages and abilities are welcome!

Race Registration:
Registration will be available online through 11:59 a.m. on July 3rd (online registration closes at noon). Race day registration will be available starting at 6:30 a.m. at the race location in front of the lodge.

RACE DAY SCHEDULE:
Last minute registration opens at 6:30 a.m.
10k Start:  7:30 a.m.
5k Start:  7:45 a.m.

Packet pick-up:

Packet pickup will be held the morning of the race starting at 6:30 a.m. in front of the lodge.
*Any race packets that are not picked up on race day will be donated.  

*Please note that we will not be exchanging t-shirt sizes at packet pickup. If we have extras after the race, you may go to the packet pickup table following the race to see if there is another size available.

The starting line is in front of the lodge.

Restrooms:
Restrooms are located inside the lodge and in campground/day use bathhouses(10K access only)

Water Stations:
10k Course:  water stations will be available at the Caddo Bend turn around point & 5K location listed below

5k Course:  a water station will be located near the halfway point.

Overall Costume Contest Winner and runners up
   • Dress in your loudest, proudest, most patriotic, most fun costume for a chance to win - to be entered in the contest, participants must stop by judges table at race check-in to have their picture taken with their bib number displayed.
