I just wanted to give a shout out for this race--it's great. It offers a 10K, 5K, and family fun run. It has the feel of a small-town race (and is small enough you can actually be relatively competitive in your age category, an added bonus) but the organization and amenities (showers are available afterwards at the Y) of a larger race.  The course is mostly flat and fast, and has beautiful views of the Everett marina/waterfront.  It ends at the Y with plenty of time for your family to meet back up again, clean up, enjoy the festivities and head a few blocks west for the 4th of July parade through downtown Everett.

Great fun for the entire family, for runners or walkers. All money goes to support the Y's Livestrong program, which enables Cancer survivors the opportunity to get back on their feet with strength, fitness and nutritional support offered to them at the Y.

So you help cancer survivors and do something good for your body/family, too. It's pretty much a win/win!
