Alport Syndrome is an inherited disease of the kidney that can
also affect the inner ear and eye. It is estimated that 1 in 5,000 people are affected by this disease, most of whom are young boys who require dialysis or a kidney transplant by their early 20s.
The Alport Syndrome Foundation is a volunteer-led organization started by families affected by this genetic disease. Proceeds from fundraising will be used to champion research to find a cure, provide outreach and awareness programs, and support conferences and symposiums.
