Running in the USA is owned and maintained by Bill and Mary Flaws (husband and wife) of Waukesha,
Wisconsin, with help from Don Drewniak of Fenwick Island, Delaware.
History
Running in the USA began as 2 separate websites that merged in the spring of 2003: Running in the USA and Run This Planet.
The original Running in the USA was started in the fall of 2002 by Don Drewniak, and was primarily a directory of online race results.
Run This Planet was started in the summer of 2002 by Bill and Mary Flaws, and was primarily a directory of races and running clubs.
Our Philosophy
We believe that race information should be easy to find on the web. We have organized our site to help visitors
find race results, information about a race, or a running club easily and quickly. This is why links in our race directory
go directly to the page that contains the race information, and not to the hosting organization's home page.
Hunting down race information from the home page of the hosting organization can be tedious, time consuming and frustrating. We know,
because we do that for you.
About Mary
Mary is a civil engineer turned computer programmer, working as an independent computer nerd under the business name
Delta Computer Solutions, Inc.
She does the web and database programming for the site.
Mary began running in August of 1999 at the age of 32.
She ran her first 5K in November of 1999.
Since then, she has been hooked on racing, and has completed many many races including 7 marathons.
She qualified for the 2007 Boston Marathon by running her fastest ever
marathon at Grandma's Marathon
in Duluth, Minnesota on June 17, 2006.

About Bill
Bill was a civil engineer for 8 years before quitting to help Mary with Delta Computer Solutions. His
primary focus now is maintaining the database of races, results and clubs links on this site. He also does the
web programming related to the look of the site and is most likely the person you would deal with if
you want to place an ad or have any general questions related to the site.
While not a runner (he did run some track in high school) he is the support/road crew for Mary during
her longer runs.

About Don
Since 1975, Don has competed in more than 600 races and been involved in the organization and/or timing
and scoring of some 800 races. A one-time public school science teacher, Don now spends much of his time
stock trading in Fenwick Island, Delaware where he lives with his wife Dolores.
